Taco Bell's Mysterious Meat

There has been alarming issues about Taco Bell and their mysterious "meat" or lack there of.  It has been claimed that Taco Bell's meat only contains 35% real meat, the rest, not meat; it contains more oats, fillers, and taco flavorings.  This accusation does not meet the required standards by the USDA which actually only requires 40% real meat -- 40%!

While Taco Bell has not met the standards of meat mandatory, they have been raking in money from this false advertising. The Alabama law firm Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles -- who is suing Taco Bell -- is not even asking for money, but to change their advertising.  Taco Bell's claim to fame -- they use real beef and the other ingredients as "allergens". Ingredients such as, water, isolated oat product, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodextrin, anti-dusting agent, autolyzed yeast extract, modified corn starch, sodium phosphate, as well as some beef and seasonings -- anti-dusting agent?

Of course there is no shame in admitting that Taco Bell is quite tasty, but we can all agree it's not the healthiest meal of choice. These types of cheap and yummy meals is entrapment; it is the perfect addiction. Most would agree… well sometimes don't ask don't tell tastes better. Except in this case, maybe we should think about what were eating -- once again, anti-dusting agent?

The President of Taco Bell stated that Taco Bell "starts" with 100 percent USDA-inspected beef. Claiming that lawyer have it all wrong. But why would lawyers from a prestigious company not do their research before suing?

Technically, every ingredient in Taco Bell's meat is obviously edible, but has only the minimum amount of meat required -- still quite low -- but no one ever complains when were out, the night is still young, and us college students will always love the taste of Taco Bell.

  1. Wait, I’m confused. So all the advertisements that Taco Bell has paid for praising their meat are false? They should be fined for false advertisements!

That’s not even what shocks me the most about your blog entry. I’m pretty disgusted that the “Crunch Wrap Supreme” and “Cheesy Gordita Crunch” that I order regularly only contain 35% meat. Just the idea that my taco’s meat has oats in it (of all things) is pretty disturbing. Your reference to other additives such as “soy lecithin, maltodextrin, anti-dusting agent, autolyzed yeast extract, modified corn starch, and sodium phosphate” might have just convinced me to stop eating at what used to be one of my favorite fast food restaurants.

  2. Good thing it was proven that the lawsuit was not legit, and hopefully it did not damage Taco Bell's reputation. In fact, Taco Bell recently released a line of ads saying, "Would it kill you to say you're sorry?" What a clever, smart way to get back at your detractors. Taco Bell is still, and hopefully will always be, serving real meat tacos.
